Lucerne Festival Preview 2015

 

Lucerne’s Easter Festival 2015 will concentrate on religious works. John Eliot Gardiner will bring over the Monteverdi Choir and English Baroque Soloists for a performance of the B Minor Mass on March 26th, Mariss Jansons brings the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra with Dvorak’s Stabat Mater on March 28th, and finish the mini-festival with Bruckner’s Sixth Symphony on March 29th. Ingo Metzmacher will conduct the South- West German Radio (Südwestfunk Radio) Symphony Orchestra Freiburg/Baden-Baden in a performance of Mahler’s Sixth Symphony on March 27th.

Lucerne’s Summer Festival 2015 features the surtitle “Humour”.

26th August: Bamberg Symphony Orch., Nott, Verdi’s Falstaff (semi-staged)

27th August: Concertgebouw, Harding, Bruckner 5

28th August: Concertgebouw, Harding, Dvorak 8

29th August: Israel PO, Mehta, Tchaikovsky 6

30th August: Boston Symphony Orch., Nelsons, Heldenleben

31st August: Boston Symphony Orch., Nelsons, Shostakovich 10

1st September:  Berlin Philharmonic Orch., Rattle, Shostakovich 4

2nd September: Berlin Philharmonic Orch., Rattle, Mozart & Haydn

3rd September: St. Petersburg Philharmonic, Termirkanov, Rachmaninov, Shostakovich 9

7th September: Dresdner Staatskapelle, Thielemann, Alpine Symphony

8th September: Dresdner Staatskapelle, Thielemann, Bruckner 6

9th  September:  San Francisco Symphony, Tilson Thomas, Beethoven 3

10th September: San Francisco Symphony, Tilson Thomas, Mahler 1

12th September: Vienna Philharmonic, Bychkov, Brahms 3
