VICTOR HOCHAUSER PRESENTS –

THE BOLSHOI BALLET AT THE ROYAL OPERA HOUSE FROM Monday 25 July TO Saturday 13  August 2016

Boshoi-logoThe Bolshoi Ballet and Orchestra return to the Royal Opera  House for  a glittering three-week  season, opening  with  the  London premiere of  a new restaging by Alexei Fadeyechev of Petipa ‘s magnificent Don Quixote.

There follows Yuri Grigorovich’s adaptation of Swan Lake, based on Petipa andIvanov’s spellbinding choreography.

Eagerly anticipated are the first live performances in the UK of acclaimed choreographer Jean-Christophe  Maillot’s  production  of  The Taming of the Shrew  in this  year  of  Shakespeare’s celebrations.

Next come three  performances of Alexei  Ratmansky’s captivating revival of Vasily Vainonen’s The Flames of Paris, which returns to London following its great success last visit. The season ends with four performances of the Bolshoi’s sumptuous staging of Le Corsaire, a reworking by Alexei Ratmansky of Petipa’s exotic grand classic.

For those lucky enough to have tickets – at the time of writing I understand the best availability is now for The Flames of Paris – this is the casting for all performances (subject to change).
