Harry Sever is Longborough’s first Ring Cycle Conducting Fellow
Longborough Festival Opera has appointed Harry Sever as its first Ring Cycle Conducting Fellow
Harry Sever will work alongside Longborough Music Director and eminent Wagnerian Anthony Negus for the next three seasons as the festival builds towards its 2024 Ring cycle. For his first performance in the post, Sever will conduct Siegfried at Longborough on Friday 3 June 2022.

NI Opera returns to Belfast’s Lyric Theatre in February 2022 with Into The Woods
Northern Ireland Opera (NI Opera) announces its return to Belfast’s Lyric Theatre next February 2022 to stage Stephen Sondheim’s and James Lapine’s Into The Woods, one of the most iconic and popular shows in the musical theatre canon, richly laden with symbolism, magic and metaphor. Lucerne Festival Orchestra to perform with Music Director Riccardo Chailly as well as Jakub Hrůša
The Chineke! Youth Orchestra and the Chineke! Orchestra, respectively, will appear at the beginning and end of the Festival
The Lucerne Festival Academy and the LFCO will focus on the work of composer-in-residence Thomas Adès and collaborate with ‘artiste étoile’ Tyshawn Sorey.
Both the composer and multifaceted instrumentalist Tyshawn Sorey and the soprano Angel Blue will be ‘artistes étoiles.’
22 orchestras will make guest appearances in Lucerne over a single month; in addition to the Berlin and Vienna Philharmonic Orchestras and the Royal Concertgebouworkest, the Cleveland Orchestra and the Philadelphia Orchestra are scheduled to appear.

Filmed and recorded live on location in Stone House over two days in April 2021, Walton’s witty one-act opera reunites the cast and creative team of Opera Holland Park’s acclaimed 2019 production of Il segreto di Susanna.
