From Vivaldi to virtual reality: Southbank Centre announces Classical Music Autumn/Winter 2024/25 programme
The Southbank Centre and its family of six Resident Orchestras – Aurora Orchestra, Chineke! Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra, London Sinfonietta, Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and Philharmonia Orchestra – has announced the Classical Music Autumn/Winter 2024/25 programme.
A presentation of the dynamic variety and staggering influence of the genre in all its forms, the programme features soaring symphonic works, powerful premieres, ambitious anniversary events performed by ground-breaking orchestras and ensembles.
The 2024–25 season at the Bayerische Staatsoper
Nine new Bayerische Staatsoper productions and three new Bayerisches Staatsballett productions, the fourth edition of the UniCredit September Festival, the third Ja, Mai Festival and a variety of concerts with the Bayerisches Staatsorchester as well as the Ballet Festival Week and the Munich Opera Festival provide the framework for the coming season in the Bayerische Staatsoper’s divisions.

The Ryedale Festival aims to make North Yorkshire one of the best places in Europe to enjoy and encounter classical music, and to do it with a sense of vision and adventure.
This year’s summer festival takes place between Friday 12th – Sunday 28th July and features 58 performances in 35 beautiful and historic locations across the county.
The Barbican announces its autumn and winter season of classical music for 2024-2025
Across the 2024-25 season, with its family of orchestral residents, associates and partners, the Barbican will present a typically eclectic programme of symphonic magnitude, technical mastery and illuminating storytelling – across a millennium of human creativity and music making.

BAMPTON CLASSICAL OPERA 2024 SEASON
For their summer production Bampton Classical Opera will present Giuseppe Gazzaniga’s bubbling comedy L’isola d’Alcina, with a libretto by Giovanni Bertati. It will be sung in a new English translation by Gilly French as Alcina’s Island. Performances will be conducted by Thomas Blunt and directed by Jeremy Gray.
The company will also give a performance of Haydn’s delightful comic opera The Apothecary (Lo speziale) on May 6 at The Manor House, Dorchester on Thames, as part of the 2024 Dorchester Festival.
