Chelsea Opera Group are pleased to announce their 2023-24 season of opera in concert at the Cadogan Hall

Conductor Anthony Negus leads the Chelsea Opera Group soloists, orchestra and chorus in Verdi’s Un ballo in maschera. Love, power and politics collide in Un ballo in maschera – based on the real-life assassination of King Gustav III of Sweden who was shot at a masked ball in 1792. Riccardo adores Amelia, but when her husband discovers their love affair, he plots against the king, leading to murder.

Conductor Matthew Scott Rogers leads Chelsea Opera Group in Delibes’s story of cross-cultural love, conflict, and death under the British Raj.

Matthew Kofi Waldren conducts the tragic story of the ailing Doge of Venice, the trial and false conviction of his son, and the aftermath for all concerned.
