UPDATE: Waterperry Opera Festival announces thrilling 2026 programme and casting

Another vibrant season of high-quality opera in English at the stunning Waterperry House & Gardens, championing young artists, welcoming new audiences, and featuring a guest recital from Roderick Williams OBE.

Waterperry Opera Festival is delighted to announce its full programme for the 2026 Festival, a richly varied summer of opera building on the festival’s record-breaking growth and reaffirming its mission to nurture the next generation of artists while widening access to the art form. The festival returns this summer from 7-16 August, under the new leadership of Artistic Director and CEO John Savournin.

Priority Booking opens from 3rd March, with General Booking opening 31st March 2026.

This year Waterperry Opera Festival is celebrating its fifth anniversary with an innovative eight-day open-air festival in August 2022, that will not disappoint. Their programme will include an impressive eight productions, as well as a variety of talks, workshops, and more. Taking advantage of Waterperry’s extensive historic grounds, the festival will build on the experiences of the past four years to produce their finest festival yet.

Following the sell-out success of the 2020 Mini-Festival, Waterperry Opera Festival will return with an ambitious ten-day open-air Covid-safe festival in August 2021. This year’s programme will include seven productions, as well as a variety of workshops, masterclasses, talks, and pop-up performances. With the advantage of Waterperry’s extensive historic grounds, the festival will continue to adapt and innovate in this changeable climate to create an engaging festival for all.
