BBC Proms 2026: how to watch on TV and BBC iPlayer
27 Proms programmes will be available on TV and BBC iPlayer, and every Prom will be broadcast on BBC Radio 3 and BBC Sounds
The BBC Proms returns for an extraordinary summer of live music, and with it, a stellar line-up of 27 Proms programmes specially curated for TV audiences. Concerts will be available to watch on BBC One, BBC Two, BBC Four, CBBC and BBC iPlayer, and as always, every Prom will be on Radio 3 and BBC Sounds.
This year’s TV offering celebrates the extraordinary breadth of the festival; beginning with the First Night of the Proms presented by Petroc Trelawny and Georgia Mann, live and simulcast on Radio 3 and BBC Two, and culminating in the iconic Last Night of the Proms presented by Katie Derham and Nick Mohammed, with the first part on BBC Two and the second part on BBC One.
TV highlights include Proms featuring some of the world’s greatest international musicians: The LA Philharmonic conducted by Gustavo Dudamel performs Beethoven’s Symphony No.7, The Met Orchestra conducted by Yannick Nézet-Séguin performs an evening of Richard Strauss, while two of the world’s most celebrated pianists, Martha Argerich and Yuja Wang, perform works by Beethoven and Barber.
The first ever Prog Rock Prom features performances from Guy Garvey (Elbow), Gruff Rhys (Super Furry Animals) and Carl Palmer (Emerson, Lake and Palmer), with music from Genesis, Jethro Tull, King Crimson, Pink Floyd and many more. Later in the season, Bond and Beyond pays homage to the music from the James Bond films, while Disney fans will delight in a Prom dedicated to the music of Alan Menken, including The Little Mermaid, Aladdin and Beauty and the Beast, conducted by Sarah Hicks.
Plus, there are celebrations of musical legends Miles Davis and Marvin Gaye, and the 40th anniversary of Paul Simon’s award-winning album Graceland, featuring Ladysmith Black Mambazo.
TV coverage featuring some of the key moments from recent Prom history will include a performance of Beethoven’s Fifth from 2024, conducted by Elim Chan.

Last year the BBC Proms reached its largest-ever audience on BBC iPlayer and BBC Sounds, and for the second year running we received a BAFTA nomination for our Last Night of the Proms coverage on TV.
‘This year promises to build on that success with 27 Proms programmes celebrating the full range of the season, from much-loved classical favourites to the iconic scores of Bond and Disney, and the first Prog Rock Prom. We’re also excited to welcome the Met Orchestra and the Spanish National Orchestra for their first ever appearances. Alongside this year’s live performances, we’ll be taking advantage of the BBC’s unrivalled archive of classical music programming, unearthing some memorable moments from Proms past.
