The Lucerne Summer 2012 Festival–Advance Details, 16.12.2011 (JR)

The Lucerne Festival in Summer 2012 will focus on the theme of “Faith”. The spectrum will range widely across music history from sacred works by Bach, Schubert and Bruckner to Mahler’s Eighth Symphony and Mendelssohn’s “Reformation” Symphony. There will also be performances of Verdi’s “Requiem”, Stravinsky’s “Symphony of Psalms” and Schoenberg’s “Moses and Aron”. Andris Nelsons will conduct Mahler’s “Resurrection” Symphony.
